We have had many people already book for the 2010 season especially for the weekends which tend to be sold out by mid March.

New for 2010 on the island will be the addition of the Put-in-Bay Resort Villas http://www.putinbayvillas.com currently under construction. These new units are located across the street from the Put-in-Bay Resort and enjoy full use of the resort facilities including the islands most popular swim up bar and the Blue Marlin Bar & Grill.

These new units will sleep 8 and 10 people and are perfect for families and larger groups on the weekends.

The 8 person villa features 4 bedrooms with one queen size bed in each bedroom, 3 full bathrooms, living room, a fully equipped kitchen including stove, microwave, refrigerator & freezer, and a living room with a 42" flat screen TV.

New for 2010 the Put-in-Bay Villas will offer all the comforts of homes only one block from the main street and nightlife in downtown Put-in-Bay, These 4 bedroom 3 bathroom units feature full kitchens, living rooms, a deck and balcony all located across from the Put-in-Bay Resort and it's award winning swim up pool bar.

This week at Put-in-Bay summer really gets going! On Thursday June 18th our friends from QFM 96 radio station in Columbus Ohio return for the annual Breakfast Club at Put-in-Bay. Friday morning enjoy a live broadcast featuring the Wags & Elliot show from the Boardwalk Restaurant on the waterfront, downtown Put-in-Bay. The event is sponsored by the Jet Express Ferry, The Boardwalk Restaurant and the official lodging headquarters for the event is the Put-in-Bay Resort & Conference Center. One Saturday June 20th, join the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers for their 20th annual Rib Cook-Off at the Skyway restaurant from 11 to 5 pm. Put-in-Bay June 12-13 Weekend

The annual Phlocking of the Phaithful parrot head weekend rolls into town June 12-13 celebrating the music of Jimmy Buffett. Hosted by the Commodore Resort, the
Put-in-Bay Resort & Conference Center and the Island Club home rentals Over 1500 Jimmy Buffett fans will enjoy three days and nights of music, poolside parties, and great live entertainment all day and night!

Also this weekend, Put-in-Bay will celebrate the founding of the island village of Put in Bay by Jose DeRivera. Founder's Day means great food and lots of fun for the entire family. This event is held in DeRivera Park downtown across from the Edgewater Hotel from 11 am to 5 pm. Ray Fogg will perform a free concert from 12:30 to 2 pm. Mr. Balloon will make a new collection of zany balloon characters for kids of all ages and there will also be a magician. The Put-in-Bay Hog Roasters will provide a roast beef picnic lunch.

On Sunday June 14th, Bring the family and the dog for the sixth annual Put-in-Bay Pooch Parade to benefit Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. $10 entry fee per pooch. Put-in-Bay Ohio Bike Week

Bikers participating in the 2009 Ohio Bike Week's North Coast Thunder Rally will enjoy a tour of Put-in-Bay and participate in a scavenger hunt and a poker run starting at 2:00 pm June 7th departing from the Put-in-Bay Resort. Afterwords, a Hog Roast will be held at the Put-in-bay Resort on Sunday starting at 4:00 PM. All participants are welcome to enjoy Put-in-Bays only award winning pool at the Put-in-Bay Resort and a great dinner.

More than 500 bikes are expected to make the trip to Put-in-Bay, South Bass Island. Wow what a great weekend we had at Put-in-Bay May 15th & 16th! Great performances by the Danger Brothers band, Love Sick Radio at Mr Ed's Bar & Grill and the bars and shops were packed! The Put-in-bay Resort pool was rockin with DJ Billy and the Put-in-Bay Resort hot tub was the place to be Saturday afternoon.

Pretty much everything was open and busy. It really looked like a late June weekend at Put-in-Bay. Mid day, the Jet Express Ferry boats were rolling in with full loads of excited tourists and the sun was out and shining brightly. There were hundreds of Golf carts out and about touring the island.

Look like this is going to be a great season at Put-in-Bay!!

Put-in-Bay will host the 6th annual Victoria Day weekend scavenger hunt and Put-in-Bay Poker Run on the weekend of May 15th and 16th in downtown Put-in-Bay. The scavenger hunt takes place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the Poker Run starts at 4:00 p.m. and concludes at 6:00 p.m.

All events take place on Golf Carts or Mopeds and there are a large amount of prizes including Put-in-Bay Mini Vacations for two including lodging and transportation, meals and souvenirs. Wow what a great weekend we had April 24-25. The weather was mid 80's and it looked like a mid summer weekend at Put-in-Bay The pool and swim up bar was open at the Put-in-Bay Resort and was packed! There was no shortage of entertainment on the island as most bars had live bands! The Jet-Express brought over 600 people in on two special charters from the Toledo area.

This coming weekend marks the annual Spring Fling party at Put-in-Bay. We are expecting over 2000 people for a great weekend of music, fun and free frosty cold adult beverages Friday and Saturday and a cookout with free food on Saturday.

Wow what a weekend we had on April 18th! Mr. Ed's Bar & Grill had it's annual Pajama Party and from the crowd that was present you would have thought it was a Friday night in July! The Put-in-Bay Resort opened their worlds largest Jacuzzi and it was jam packed all day long!

It was Sunny and about 70 degrees and the golf carts and mopeds were zipping about the island. Many people took advantage of the last minute logding deals offered by island hotels with rooms only $99.00 and suites only $149.00 to enjoy a great weekend at the bay.

It was a great wekend at Put-in-Bay and several hundred people ejoyed the annual Whisky Light opening celebration at the Round House Bar. The weather was a little chilly but everyone knows the bars have heat! Two hotels also opened for the season the Put-in-Bay Resort and the Edgewater Hotel and were running some awesome April weekend specials at $99.00 per room.

This weekend also saw the opening of the very popular Mr. Ed's Bar & Grill and the golf carts were were out and about. This is also a very popular time of the year for Bird Watching at Put-in-Bay.

Guests invited to Put-in-Bay South Bass Island park, visitors center to take part in Earth Hour Program
Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial invites visitors to join millions of people across the world to celebrate Earth Hour by switching off their lights at 8:30 p.m. for one hour Saturday to help make a statement of concern about global climate change and to demonstrate a commitment to finding solutions.
"We are also inviting visitors to join us at Perry's Victory in Put-in-Bay, Ohio for a special Earth Hour Program starting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28," added Superintendent Blanca Stransky.
The program will feature Gene Zajac, director of the Shaker Heights Schools Planetarium and Solar System Ambassador, who will conduct a program in the visitors center on the beauties of the night sky. After the presentation, the lights will go out and the celebration will continue outside. Visitors will be encouraged to share their recollections about the Lake Erie area or just enjoy the night sky.
Participants are encouraged to dress warmly and bring lawn chairs to sit around the campfire rings. Cookies and hot chocolate will be provided by Eastern National, the park's cooperative association.

Celebrate Earth Day at Perry’s Victory National Monument

The Lake Erie Islands Chapter of the Black Swamp Conservancy and Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial at Put-in-Bay will sponsor an Earth Day Celebration filled with activities for children of all ages beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, Superintendent Blanca Stransky announced today. Starting at 8 a.m. naturalists will lead a bird walk and conduct a “feather toss” for tree shallows at the Scheef East Point Nature Preserve on Put-in Bay, Ohio.

The National Park Service will host a Junior Ranger Jamboree at 10 a.m. said Stransky.During the Junior Ranger Jamboree, children ages 5-12 will learn about the different Ranger jobs in the National Park Service and earn Junior Ranger badges, added Stransky.Following the Junior Ranger Jamboree, everyone is invited to a Mother Earth salad and pizza buffet featuring a special guest speaker at 11:30 a.m. The price for the lunch buffet will be $8.95 per person.After lunch, Melissa Moser from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Natural Area and Preserves will give a presentation and lead a field trip to study invasive plant species.

Trail construction and garden clean-up activities will be conducted at the end of the day at the Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center.

Freee Dockage for Put-in-Bay Fishermen

To better encourage spring fishermen to come to Put-in-Bay, the Put-in-Bay Village Council decided to offer free dockage to fishermen with boats under 25 feet long until May 14th. The idea is to let fishermen know they can stop at Put-in-Bay for lunch, to stretch their legs and use the facilities. For those fishermen staying the night on the island at local hotels, they'll be able to launch their boats and keep them tied up overnight at the Village's A and C docks.

The Put-in-Bay Village council has also frozen dockage rates at $1.40 per foot at A and C docks for the 2009 season, so with the cost of gasoline down, it will be more affordable to come to Put-in-Bay this season than last.
